Buddhist monument constructed at 8th century when Central Java still a Buddhist kingdom.  Borobudur devided into three levels that symbolize of Buddhist cosmology: Kāmadhātu (the world of desire), Rupadhatu (the world of forms) and Arupadhatu (the world of formlessness).  The monument consists of six square platforms topped by three circular platforms and is decorated with 2,672 relief panels and 504 Buddha statues. A main dome, located at the center of the top platform, is surrounded by 72 Buddha statues each of which is seated inside a perforated stupa. It is the world’s largest Buddhist temple, as well as one of the greatest Buddhist monuments in the world. The nearest temples are  Pawon Temple , Mendut Temple (with biggest Buddha statue in one piece andesit stone)  that located on the way to Borobudur temple from Jogjakarta

Shiva temple derives it name from the village where it is located Prambanan, was first built at the site around 9th Century by Rakai Pikatan Locally well known as the Loro Jonggrang Temple, or the temple of the “Slender Virgin”, it is the biggest and most beautiful Hindu temple in Indonesia. Seventeen kilometers east of Jogjakarta, it is believed to have been built by King Balitung Maha Sambu in the middle of the ninth century. Its parapets are a domed with a bas-relief depicting the famous Ramayana Story. The complex of Prambanan Temple lies among green fields and villages. It has eight shrines, of which the tree main ones are dedicated to Shiva, Visnu and Brahma. The main temple of Shiva rises to a height of 130 feet and houses the magnificent statue of Shiva’s consort, Durga.
